Consultation & Assessment

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, particularly if you are unsure what to expect or whether counselling is right for you.

An initial consultation gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you would like support with and what you hope to gain from our work together. It also gives you the chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you.

There is no pressure to have everything worked out before we meet. We can begin wherever you are and consider together how therapy might best support you.

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

There are many reasons why you might consider therapy. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties or changes in your personal or professional life.

Sometimes there may not be one particular issue, you may simply feel that something isn't quite right or want a better understanding of yourself.

I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life and explore thoughts or feelings that may be difficult to share elsewhere.

My approach is person-centred at its heart, which means our work begins with you.

Rather than telling you what you should do, I work alongside you to understand your experiences, recognise patterns and explore what might help you move forward.

Therapy is shaped around your individual needs and can be short or longer term depending on what feels appropriate for you.

Children & Young People

Growing up can bring many emotional and social challenges. Young people may experience anxiety, low mood, difficulties with friendships or family relationships, problems at school, questions around identity, neurodivergence, loss or simply feelings they find difficult to understand or express.

I provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where young people aged 11–18 can explore what is happening for them at their own pace.

Talking isn't always the easiest way for a young person to communicate. Depending on their age and individual needs, I may incorporate creative activities and other ways of exploring thoughts and feelings alongside conversation.

My experience includes working therapeutically with children and young people in schools, specialist SEND settings and private practice. I recognise that every young person is different, so the way we work together is adapted to the individual rather than expecting them to fit a particular approach.

Where appropriate, I also work collaboratively with parents or carers while respecting the young person's need for privacy and a confidential therapeutic relationship.

Neurodivergent Clients

Being neurodivergent can shape the way you experience, understand and interact with the world.

It can bring strengths and different ways of thinking, while also sometimes contributing to experiences of overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, masking, difficulties in relationships or feeling misunderstood by others.

I offer neuro-affirming therapy for neurodivergent adults and young people, including those who are autistic, have ADHD or experience other forms of neurodivergence.

My approach is based on understanding and accepting difference rather than seeing neurodivergence as something that needs to be "fixed". Therapy is adapted around your individual needs, preferences and ways of communicating.

You do not need to communicate in a particular way or fit yourself around a traditional model of therapy. Together, we can explore what works best for you and create a therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

My work in this area is informed by specialist training in neurodivergence alongside my experience supporting neurodivergent young people within specialist SEND environments.
